I am sad to say I have made the decision to close down Forever Fabric.
As some of you know I also run The Sewing Directory website, and I am an author too (working on my next book at the moment) plus I have a young son. I had the idea for Forever Fabric several years ago but knew with my other commitments it would be too much for me to handle. Last autumn my husband was made redundant. He has been working from home for several years and did not want to return to an office job. So we decided it was the perfect time to to pursue my idea for Forever Fabric, so we could run the site together.
Just before I launched the site he got another job, so I have been running the site alone. I tend to work on The Sewing Directory and my writing work during the days, and then evenings and weekends have been filled up with Forever Fabric. I’ve worked 7 days/evenings a week before when I set up The Sewing Directory and it had a very bad impact on my health. I could feel myself returning to that point in the last few months trying to juggle two businesses, a book and looking after my son.
So I realised something had to go, and sadly that is Forever Fabric. I have loved investigating new fabric collections and reporting on them (although my bank balance has not loved me then wanting to buy them all!) I hope you have enjoyed the site and will follow me over to The Sewing Directory. I am hoping that in the future I can incorporate some elements of Forever Fabric into The Sewing Directory.
I will be leaving the Forever Fabric site live until September as many of the collections featured are not in the shops yet, so the stockist information should come in handy to you when they are on sale.
Thank you all for your support.
