Hand Maker by Natalie Barnes
Hand Maker is the debut fabric collection from quilt pattern designer Natalie Barnes for Windham Fabrics. She says Hand Maker is inspired by the ‘belief that we are all better because we are connected and therefore we walk through life together’. As a quilt pattern designer she knows which kind of designs work well in a whole range of different quilt styles. Most the prints are quite small in scale so they work great when cut up small to make blocks. You can still see the detail of the prints in even the smallest pieces, such as in this scrappy tablet case shown below, which is a free project from Natalie (download here).
There are several other free patterns for this collection on Natalie’s site here. Most the prints in Hand Maker are blenders which either work great together or other collections, and also make nice backgrounds too. There are some textured prints, dotty designs and florals in a multi coloured colour palette.
Hand Maker is available in shops now.
