The style is quite different from her previous collections, looking more like hand printed designs than computer made designs. It is combining her commerical fine art print making style into her fabrics for hobbyists. Plus as well as being available as quilting cotton the prints can be purchased as lawn or canvas. The lawns will be ideal for dressmaking with better drape than quilting cotton, and I love using canvas fabric for bags, it has more structure and is harder wearing than quilting cotton. Canvas is also great for furnishing projects too because of that durability.
The colour palette of this collection is largely neutral with some subtle splashes of colour. Lizzy has a BFA in print making and has obviously bought her knowledge into this collection. Which would you go for, cotton, canvas or lawn?
There’s a free quilt pattern for Printmaking available here, great for showcasing the detail of the prints.
Printmaking will be available in stores from April.
